The Sediment Water Filter is designed to remove physical debris and impurities from your water. This filter features a melt-blown, four-layer polypropylene construction with grooved sediment filtration. The smaller the micron rating, the finer the filter's ability to capture smaller particles.

Generally, for water with larger visible pollutants, a sediment filter with a larger micron size (such as 20 or 50 microns) is recommended as the first stage to prevent clogging of subsequent filters. This sediment filter is often the initial filter installed in a Reverse Osmosis system, acting as a net to catch unwanted particles like sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine matter.

The main difference between a Grooved Sediment Filter and a regular Sediment Filter is the increased surface area of the grooved design, which contributes to a longer lifespan and better filtration performance. These filters use a multi-layer gradient filtration system to intercept a variety of impurities, including rust, corrosion, coarse sand, fine sand, particles, sediment, and dirt.

These universal 2.5 x 10-inch sediment filters are compatible with most standard under-sink Reverse Osmosis, whole-house, under-counter, and countertop water filtration systems. They provide superior contaminant holding capacity and flow rate compared to similar filters, reducing sediment particles as small as 1 micron without affecting taste, odor, or color.
