Product Description Melt-blown Four-Layer Filtration Polypropylene Sediment Filter (2 Pack)

A sediment water filter removes physical debris and impurities from your water. The filter has tiny holes that allow water to pass through, while trapping unwanted particles. The filter size, measured in microns, determines the size of the particles it can capture. For water with larger particles, a larger micron size (such as 20 or 50 microns) is recommended as the first stage to prevent clogging of subsequent filters.

This sediment filter is often the first installed in a Reverse Osmosis system, acting as a net to catch sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine particles. The filter is made of fine, melted polypropylene, which is then blown and spun into a cylinder-like form. Polypropylene is resistant to chemical solvents, bases, and acids. Removing these particles allows downstream filters, such as Carbon Block or GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filters, to perform better and last longer.

These sediment filters intercept a variety of impurities, including rust, corrosion, coarse and fine sand, hard scale, and other particles. They have a superior contaminant-holding capacity and flow rate compared to similar-sized sediment filters.

The filters are 2.5 x 10-inch in size, compatible with most standard under-sink Reverse Osmosis, Whole House, Under Counter-top, and Counter-top water filtration units. They are designed to reduce sediment particles as small as 1 micron without adding taste, odor, or color to your water, making them suitable for residential, rural, commercial, industrial, and municipal applications.
